Associate Professor Suresh Pillai from the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine) and Director of International Programmes at the Centre for Healthcare Simulation, has been conferred the Venus International Award for Excellence in Emergency Medicine, Medical Education, Healthcare Simulation Instructorship, and Public Service by the Venus International Foundation. The Foundation is an independent trust dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge, building a vibrant community to exchange new knowledge and innovation to stimulate fresh insights on different levels as part of developing new professional skills within the scientific community.

Presented to Assoc Prof Pillai at the 8th Venus International Healthcare Awards (VIHA) during the Annual Healthcare Summit 2025 in Chennai, India, this award celebrates healthcare minds around the world and recognises extraordinary professionals whose research, service, and leadership advance the practice of healthcare.
Assoc Prof Pillai was conferred the award for his leadership in simulation-based healthcare education and faculty simulation instructorship, Emergency Medicine, undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, and public service. His research focuses on online simulation methodology as an alternative to traditional on-site simulation, interprofessional healthcare patient safety education, and training of Residents in responding to clinical emergencies.
