Engineering students at the National University of Singapore (NUS) have built the country's first electric race car, which can go from 0kmh to 100kmh in 3.9 seconds. That is the acceleration recorded by some electric vehicles (EVs), including Tesla and Audi models.

The development of an embryo is a well-orchestrated string of processes, ensuring correct formation and positioning of vital organs of the growing organism. At the molecular level, these processes are controlled in a precise manner by switching on or off specific factors such as genes or proteins. Any errors in these processes could result in physical defects or disease in the newborn organism.

Professor Lim Chwee Teck and Associate Professor Leo Hwa Liang, both from the Department of Biomedical Engineering were elected as Fellows of the International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM) at the IUPESM World Congress 2022. The Fellowships recognise their outstanding contributions to the international development of physical and engineering sciences in medicine.
