Mr Jeremiah Lau from NUS Faculty of Law has been elected a Prize Scholar of Merton College, Oxford. Awarded in an annual competition regardless of discipline and funding, the accolade is reserved for those of the highest academic distinction and is usually conferred upon four research students in the later years of their degrees.
Appointed a Sheridan Fellow in 2017, Mr Lau is currently completing his doctorate in Law at Merton College, while on study leave from NUS. His research at Oxford combines the doctrinal study of the English common law with the legal-historical method. His other research interests include commercial law, equity and trusts, legal history, and private law theory.
