A team of marine biologists from the NUS Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) demonstrates for the first time the spawning and growth of two species of sea snails or cowrie larvae, the Cypraea tigris (Tiger) and Mauritia arabica (Arabian), under laboratory conditions.

Three Singaporean professors from NUS were honoured by prestigious scientific journal Nature for their commitment towards nurturing the next generation of scientists. Professor Lim Chwee Teck received the lifetime achievement award, while Professor Koh Woon Puay and Professor Tai E Shyong were joint-recipients of the mid-career award.

A research team from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Science, led by Professor Liu Xiaogang from the Department of Chemistry, has developed a 3D imaging sensor that has an extremely high angular resolution.
